Inside WARP SHINJUKU.

WARP SHINJUKU opened in October 2018 as Kabukicho's first large-scale club in about a decade, and has since climbed to No. 31 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs — the highest ranking a Japanese venue has ever taken. The concept is 'Tokyo, 100 years from now': four spaceship-styled rooms spread over two basement floors, led by the 600-capacity Universe Floor, where a three-tier circular truss rig called the Solar System spins lasers, LED rings and twice-nightly confetti drops above the crowd, all running on an L-Acoustics system. The soundtrack is all-mix — EDM, Top 40 and hip-hop remixes early, deeper DJ selections late — with Bar Meteo's lounge sets, the private Cosmo Room and the weekly-rotating Force Floor filling out the building.

Four floors beneath Kabukicho, No. 31 in the world — Shinjuku’s spaceship megaclub.

The crowd centres on the early twenties and mixes in one of Kabukicho's biggest tourist contingents — the club runs an English 'How to WARP' guide and takes cards plus WeChat Pay and Alipay at the door. Entry is 20-plus with photo ID; women get in from ¥800 with a drink all night, men from ¥1,000 before midnight, and 200-plus lockers wait downstairs. Doors open at 9 pm, 365 nights a year — go early for cheap entry, or after 1 am when the floor hits its peak.
